Our Mission

At the Andes Society for History and Culture, our mission is to preserve and present Andes' history and culture while meeting professional standards and ensuring our work remains meaningful and accessible to the community.

Preserving Culture, Art & History

Since 1975, the Andes Society for History and Culture (ASHC) has been dedicated to preserving the rich history and cultural heritage of Andes, NY, and our surrounding communities. We offer diverse educational programs, cultural events, and research opportunities, making local history accessible and relevant to our community.

The ASHC's history within the community speaks of the literally hundreds of events, programs, concerts, lectures, demonstrations, scholarships, plays, dinners, tours, Community Day and other activities to which we have sponsored, funded or contributed. All operations and events are organized and carried out by volunteers. The ASHC has a longstanding record of financial responsibility and stability with its income being derived from membership dues, the Thrift Shop, programming proceeds, donations and interest on the ASHC Endowment Fund.

Dive into diverse educational exhibits, engaging events, and unique opportunities that connect us all! Whether you're a history buff, a culture enthusiast, or just curious about our local stories, there's something for everyone.
